Lilac Girls

By Martha Hall Kelly

8/10 - Another WWII fiction novel here, and while I did like the diverse stories in this book, it wasn't as good as The Nightingale for me. A couple things I really did like though: (1) one of the characters was a female Nazi doctor (a rarity under Hitler's rule), which is not a character I've read before in a WWII novel, (2) there was also the perspective of an American woman who was trying to help with the war effort from New York, and (3) the story of the "rabbits," a group of women who were experimented on by the Nazis, which I hadn't heard of before. Generally a good book with interesting characters which sucked me in, but not my favorite WWII fiction I've read recently.
